Fresherized Foods began its sustainability program in 2009 with the hiring of its Director of Sustainability, Marcela Maltos.Since then, we have developed a sustainability strategy and have identified eight projects to complete by mid-2011 to build a comprehensive sustainability program.
Select relevant indicators from the Global Reporting Initiative framework and corresponding Food Processing Sector Supplement to track and use when disclosing sustainability performance.
Build a sustainability management system, with a “dashboard” for internal and external reporting.
Set goals and performance targets for metrics within the sustainability dashboard.
Conduct a comprehensive carbon footprint for the full life cycle of our product.
Evaluate and disclose our climate risk through the Carbon Disclosure Project.
Develop a regular employee newsletter to report on sustainability initiatives and progress to all staff.
Create an informational sheet for customers, outlining our sustainability goals and performance.
Provide detailed responses to particular customers via their sustainability questionnaires or other reporting structure.
